This year's Armory Show (September 24-27) will once again bring the global elite of the art world to New York City, with marquee exhibitors like Perrotin, 303 Gallery and Albertz Benda sharing space with dozens of smaller independent dealers at the city's sprawling Javits Center.

But a particular highlight will be the MvVO ART Show, a little further uptown and actually spread out over the entire week (September 21-27). It's taking place at the newly revitalized and, might we add, quite glamorous new Waldorf Astoria - which debuted in 1931, and was reopened again to the public in September of 2025, after a lavish makeover.

MvVO is the organization helmed by founder Maria van Vlodrop, whose acclaimed Ad Art Show events have uniquely presented works by artists who began their careers working in advertising. In 2020 she was named to ADWEEK's 'Creative 100: Creators and Curators list'. She has also gained notoriety for presenting critically and commercially successful exhibits in surprising locations, such as Times Square and the New York Stock Exchange.

This show, however, will be presenting an expertly curated selection of mid-career and up-and-coming artists working in contemporary painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, all strikingly displayed throughout the hotel's Peacock Alley Corridor. Just a few of the highlights include Ellen Ball's fashion-forward 'Golden Hour', Phillip Heimann's baroque re-imagining 'Porcelain III', and Kathleen Arthur's cool Pop Art homage 'Unmuffled'.

Of course, the setting is sure to make this exhibit a particularly memorable experience, as the Waldorf boasts fascinating historical details everywhere you look, whilst now also oozing the sort of contemporary glamour that comes with an eight-year, $2 billion revamp. So in between browsing the artworks, one can pop in for an expertly prepared martini at the buzzy new Lex Yard restaurant and bar, or go for a specialized treatment at the luxurious Guerlain Wellness Spa, a co-sponsor of the event.

But most importantly, the MvVO ART Show represents one of the absolute best opportunities to discover a new favorite artist, and add to one's personal art collection without breaking the bank. Don't miss it!

Note: For those unable to physically attend, or anyone just seeking a bit of artistic inspiration, many of the works are also viewable and available for purchase at the official MvVO Artsy page.
